Kerala Rubber Limited (KRL), established in 2019 by the Government of Kerala and beginning operations in 2021, is a fully owned state enterprise envisioned to strengthen Kerala’s position as India’s rubber capital. The initiative aims to promote value addition and facilitate market access across the rubber value chain. It is anticipated that Kerala will emerge as a leader in natural rubber–based products through the development of quality infrastructure and the encouragement of innovation.

The integrated Industrial Complex is expected to bring together infrastructure development, research support, incubation facilities, and testing centres under one platform. By connecting farmers, MSMEs, industries, and research institutions, the effort seeks to encourage innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness in the global market. Backed by the state’s vision, the initiative is projected to support Kerala’s gradual transformation from a raw material supplier to a potential global hub for high-quality, value-added rubber products—contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive rubber economy.
